Who are Accident Claim Companies?

Claim Companies

If you have sustained a personal injury you may be considering using the services of an accident clams company who more often known as a claims companies such as the Accident Group or Lawyers for you. The people who work for such companies will often approach people offering to get them back on the road with the incentive of a car immediately and that they can deal with all the matters but the there are down sides, you get a quick car but that does not mean you will get the best service even though they will also offer to take up cases on a ‘no win, no fee’ basis Just like we would.

Disadvantages
  1. A claims company will not usually be a solicitor and may not have a solicitor taking responsibility for the case. If this is so, the assessor will not be able to claim compensation through the courts and if you have suffered the injury you may receive less compensation.
  2. A claims company if he is not dealing with the matter himself will often refer the case to a Solicitor and therefore slow the process down.
  3. The claims company who does refer will seek a referral fee from the Solicitor and therefore may have arrangements with a firm, thus limiting your choice as to who you wish to instruct. This will not be an issue unless you are not happy but changing at this stage may cause you problems.
  4. The claims company may ask you to pay a percentage of whatever compensation you receive to the assessor. This may well be incorporated into the agreement and may come as a nasty surprise at the end. You should be aware that while paying 50% of £1,000 damages may be acceptable to you, paying 50% of £10,000 may not.
  5. Although they are required to be insured it is unlikely that you could complain and receive proper redress.
  6. They are not legally qualified as Solicitors
  7. They have no training requirements
